Professional experience
Training and Consultation Experience
I have over 15 years of experience in drop-in, community health, and private practice settings—collaborating and consulting with colleagues and providing gender affirming and sexuality inclusive care for adolescents through seniors.
I have created proposals for and led a workgroup over reviewing existing and developing new agency protocols, visit and documentation systems to reduce barriers to care. And I have provided individual and group consultation and training in agency staff meeting setting; for online continuing education credit trainings as well as at professional health and wellness web training series, Q&A sessions and conferences about examining provider implicit bias related to gender affirming care, and gender affirming surgery support letters.
I see providing space for conversations of this kind as part of an effort to improve access and reduce barriers to care for trans, nonbinary and gender expansive people.
Clinical Supervision Experience
I have worked as a clinical supervisor for non-clinically licensed counseling staff, MSW interns, provisionally licensed (LCSW) clinicians, and independently licensed clinical social workers in a variety of settings.
I currently work as a Practicum Faculty Advisor for Smith College School for Social Work graduate student interns in first- and second-year practicum placements.
I completed the Smith School for Social Work Advanced Clinical Supervision Certificate Program (2022-2023).
Additionally, I have participated as staff trainer in community health center trainee program supporting social work, psychology and mental health counseling graduate students developing clinical skills in working with sexually diverse and gender expansive people.
I provided review and guidance over clinical documentation and developing the skills of formulating clinical diagnoses required for health insurance billing purposes and which meet the Social Work Code of Ethics. I also developed an interview guide and training for clinicians learning how to provide gender affirming surgery support letter assessments and how to write support letters.
