I do not accept health insurance plans at this time. There are a number of reasons why I am choosing to do this and I welcome us to talk about if you would find it helpful to understand why. I am able to provide you with a detailed receipt with a diagnostic code, which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement of the service.
This is referred to as a “super bill” for insurance plans that have “out of network” benefit coverage.
This means you would pay me up front, and then submit my receipt with a claim to your insurance, and then your insurance sends you partial reimbursement for what you paid. The reimbursement can sometimes be up to 60% or more of the fee.
I recommend checking with your insurance directly about if you have out of network benefits.

Initial consultation to see if we are a good fit: FREE (15 mins) for individuals and (15-30 mins) for relationship therapy
Initial Intake/Diagnostic evaluation: 1 hr =$250
Individual therapy: 50 min =$200
Relationship therapy: (couples, polycules, siblings) 1hr =$250
*People interested and currently receiving therapy services are entitled by law to receiving a “Good Faith Estimate” upon request. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, visit: www.cms.gov/nosurprises
*If you are choosing to use Out of Network (OON) benefits, health insurance requires that I provide a diagnostic billing code. If you are interested in receiving a diagnosis or would find it helpful for other services or accommodations you are seeking elsewhere, we can discuss the process for receiving a formal clinical diagnosis.
*Please see consultation and supervision, training and education information for those service rates.

I welcome a discussion of what you can afford to pay. I have a limited number of sliding scale and pro bono openings.
The more someone is able to pay, the more resources there are to support offering a session to others at a reduced rate. Please reach out to me.
The sliding scale rates are based off of how you identify your economic history and current status. I will not be asking for any proof of income.

I request that you be in touch as soon as you know you need to cancel, or 48 hours ahead of your scheduled time.
The fee for canceling under 48hrs is the same rate as my session fees (see therapy and supervision session rates).
I reserve the time for you specifically and it is otherwise challenging to the fill the appointment time.
If you have questions as to why my cancelation fee is this way, I am happy to explain.

Relationship therapy is for anyone who wants to improve connection, understanding and communication between themselves and someone, or others, they are in relationships with. Relationship therapy is most effective when each person in the relationship is on board to try out the therapy.
In the traditional sense of the term, it has meant for couples or families.
Relationship therapy may at times feel that a session is focusing on one individual than the others. But generally is focused on each person as part of the whole.
It can provide opportunities to sort through decisions and to practice communication within existing dynamics, as well as to help shift dynamics which all people in the relationship have agreed need shifting.
I offer therapy for people in romantic or intimate relationships (people in open relationships and polycules welcome), siblings, friends, housemates, parent-adult child duos, chosen family relationships.
If there is a relationship structure not mentioned here that you are looking for support around, please reach out and we can discuss if my skillset is a match, or I am happy to provide referrals.

Yes. I provide Gender Affirming surgery and hormone care mental health provider support letters. The visits are to collect information necessary to support accessing gender affirming surger(ies) and/or hormonal care.
This service is offered whether or not you are seeking or are already engaged in therapy. It is at no cost. Currently, I am offering these sessions on a monthly basis.
If you are able to pay something, it will afford me to be able to offer more openings at no cost for letter support, or reduced fees for general therapy services to others in need.
I am connected to a network of gender affirming mental health providers. I am happy to provide a referral for these services as well if I am unable to meet your timeline.
If you are in need of a support letter(s) and also are interested in beginning ongoing or short-term therapy, please let me know and we can discuss how the letter request and beginning therapy together will work with regards to the fees for therapy sessions.
Additional information regarding surgery support letters:
My primary goal is to collect information from you that best represents your experiences and needs related to accessing gender affirming medical care. The purpose is to support you in reaching your next step as you plan for surger(ies). I use WPATH SOC V. 8 as recommendations for what to include in letters. We will talk about what you are comfortable with me including. I cannot guarantee a set number of visits without a first meeting. However, I aim to collect information needed within one to two visits depending on how many surgeries you are planning for and related letters are needed.
I am an LICSW (Licensed independent clinical social worker; a master’s level clinician (MSW)). Some surgeons and insurance companies require more than one mental health provider letter and a higher level of licensure (such as a Phd, PsyD, or MD) for a first or second mental health provider letter.
It is recommended to check with your surgeon(s) and insurance company to determine how many and of what type of mental health provider letters are needed for the particular surgery type(s) you are in need of letters for.

For small group clinical consultation or larger group trainings, please get in touch and we can discuss a rate of which you feel your group or organization can afford.

I do not provide ketamine or psychedelic assisted therapies at this time.
-
I’m open to discussing walking or outdoor therapy! Please mention your interest in this when you reach out and we can talk further.

Short-term therapy usually means meeting anywhere from 4-12 sessions to address specific needs rather than ongoing concerns.
Examples include: receiving support in identifying and processing emotions that are coming up in anticipation of attending an upcoming family event, mentally preparing for it, strategizing over self-care and approaches to communicating needs or boundaries once there, and deciding how to practically communicate coming out at work.
For ongoing or relationship therapies, it doesn’t mean that therapy will be forever, but it is recommended to participate in therapy for at least a six month period of time depending on how often we are meeting.
*If you are only wanting to receive a letter for gender affirming hormone start or surgeries, I do offer one to two visits for this purpose only. See FAQ “Do you provide gender affirming and hormone start support letters?”

Yes, I’m happy to provide referrals. I do maintain a short waitlist.
Given I am typically providing ongoing therapy, rather than short-term, I will let you know if my availability or waitlist is at capacity when you reach out if it is not otherwise indicated on my website.
